Staking our place at EvokeAg 2026

I was asked this question a few weeks before attending the biggest Agtech conference in Australia. It was a big question, for a big event but one that was worthy of some reflection. EvokeAg presented a significant opportunity for Mobius Farms. Being part of Start-up Alley provided a platform to educate, influence and promote not only our products and services, but also our vision and values.

The reality is that hundreds of people attend EvokeAg each year. Not everyone is going to be interested in Mobius Farms and insect bioconversion. It’s more than likely that many would never have heard of either! So, how do we “get lucky”? What exactly were we looking for at EvokeAg? Chris once said that “luck is when preparation meets opportunity” and this echoed in my head. In the weeks leading up to EvokeAg, I spent time distilling our marketing and communications messaging: What is Mobius Farms? What do we do? Why should anyone care?

To be honest, I was feeling intimidated. I felt small comparing Mobius Farms to other companies in StartUp Alley; a Japanese autonomous vehicle company, real-time soil intelligence technology, or software that detects the nose-prints of cattle! I stopped, took a breath and reminded myself of how far we’d already come and what impact had still yet to be delivered.

Turning Waste into Value

Mobius Farms exists to turn waste into value. Through our insect bioconversion process we will ACTIVATE communities to RECOVER natural resources and CREATE security through more sustainable and resilient food production systems. Since its founding in 2020, Mobius Farms has:

  • Continuously farmed Black Soldier Fly Larvae;
  • Attained revenue through sales of insect-derived products in the pet food market;
  • Conducted collaborative research projects to increase access to knowledge;
  • Been successfully awarded grant funding from government and non-government entities;
  • Established respectful, professional international networks;
  • Co-created Australia’s first online Black Soldier Fly Farming training program, and
  • Designed and built the L-Pod, making insect bioconversion more accessible to more communities.

Standing Our Ground

Whilst Mobius Farms may not be recognisable to many attending EvokeAg 2026, we’ve certainly demonstrated the grit, resilience and capabilities to stand our ground in StartUp Alley. We stepped forward to claim our space with a clear message:

Mobius Farms exists to promote circular food systems through practical, decentralised, proven and trusted technologies.

We recognise that the insect industry doesn’t need more hype—it needs systems that work in the real world. Food waste is everywhere, and centralised solutions won’t be enough. That’s why decentralised models matter.

What Does Success Look Like?

Returning to our original question: “What does success at EvokeAg 2026 look like for you?”

Success looks like founders engrossed in conversations with potential customers, investors, and supporters. Success sounds like when people stop asking whether this works and start asking, “Why isn’t insect bioconversion everywhere yet?!!”

What Do We Need Right Now?

Mobius Farms needs investment to scale people and deployment; including operators, commercial capability, and market engagement. We know the biology works, the technology exists, and our reputation is established. Now it’s about building a repeatable system.

If you have the capacity to invest in or support Mobius Farms’ vision, we’d love to hear from you. Connect with us via our website.
